The Shimano Saragosa SRG10000SW Spinning Reel is the first entry in the lineup where pelagic hunting is the primary application. You can match the SRG10000SW on a 10 foot surf stick for a great big water setup, but it’s much more at home seated on a 7-8 foot heavy or extra heavy boat spinning rod hunting for tuna, dorado, kings, amberjack, or wahoo. The Saragosa 10000 has a heavy duty cold forged aluminum spool that’s capable of holding over 350 yards of standard 50# braid, and if you opt for a thinner superbraid you can fit even more! Packed with innovative Shimano features, the SRG10000SW is an amazing mid-priced saltwater spinning reel that performs like much more expensive reels of the past. Shimano’s proprietary X-ToughDrag system pumps out a brawny 33# drag, which puts this reel in true bluewater range. Even with a 4.9:1 gear ratio, the Saragosa 10000 really burns – cranking in 40 inches of line per every crank making this reel ideal for tossing iron or chucking poppers. The Shimano Saragosa SRG10000SW Spinning Reel utilizes Shimano’s patented X-Ship gearing system, which places an S-ARB ball bearing at either end of the Hargane pinion gear ensuring perfect gear placement even under extreme stress.
